Philharmonie de Paris

The Philharmonie de Paris is a leading cultural institution devoted to musical creation, performance, and transmission. Located in the Parc de la Villette, it brings together major artistic, educational, and heritage activities, including a rich concert programme across several venues and the Musée de la musique, whose collections span centuries of musical history.

Its mission extends far beyond symphonic music. The Philharmonie presents a wide range of genres—classical, jazz, world music, contemporary creation—while hosting renowned resident ensembles such as the Orchestre de Paris and the Ensemble intercontemporain. The institution also develops large‑scale multidisciplinary projects and exhibitions that build bridges between music and the visual arts.

A cornerstone of its identity is its extensive educational work: workshops, participatory programmes for all ages, the nationwide Démos youth orchestra initiative, and the Philharmonie des enfants, all designed to broaden access to musical culture and nurture new audiences. Through its ambitious programming, commitment to artistic excellence, and inclusive cultural mission, the Philharmonie de Paris has become a vital hub for musical life in France and an international reference point.
